How to stay awake during a meeting?
Assalamualaikum dear amigos! Ola! Have you ever slept during a meeting or assembly or during your class or any occasion that involves people talking? Come on! Raise your hand! (Like I can see you raising your hand…duh) The only thing I know here is I definitely have! Many times during the office meeting (I’m the bloody part-timer! How many things about the office I should know about? I’m going away from this dull place anyway. And FYI, this week is my last week for in this office! After this, I’m a freeman! I mean freewomen! Free...weee :p). Sometimes during class (like one time I was very tired and sleepy during history class, and my teacher saw me in pain of tiredness, she ask me what wrong. Then I told her I had my menstrual pain. heee. So, she said okay for me to rest! Hahaha! I’m a sneaky lumpy lady) and sometimes during assembly (the principle wouldn’t stop babbling! What’s wrong with her?). So, I as a teenager, I couldn’t pay attention for a long time. I tried once, but it just made brain jammed a few hours.
Why are all these happening to us my pips? Have we been kidnapped by aliens and they reconstruct our brains? Or, did we’ve done sins to Allah till The Al-Mighty made us like this???
The answer is “maybe”. No one knows but only the Creator! Praise to Allah! Dear ladies and gents, there are a several reasons and they are;
1) Not enough sleep; oh guys, I know some of you believe that sleeping early it’s not cool but we need our sleep! Why would you go to sleep on 2 in morning? And wake up 6.30 am for school or classes or to offices? Definitely not right at all! Sleep early and well! Get fresh in the morning!
2) Wrong meal for breakfast; what kind of foods you’re eating now days people? Most of Malaysian would start their day with unhealthy food. The most well-liked one is nasi lemak! And duh… nasi lemak does make you drowsy. Berlemak-lemak you eat for your breakfast. Eat right dudes! Like Oatmeal, that is a good source of energy and has been linked to help reduce high cholesterol along with apples. Thus some people (like my sis who is thin like a twig!) would skip the most important meal of the day 'breakfast' or as the other poster said they eat junk food (eating on the run.) MacDonalds is great for advertising their egg and cheese buns. Not good!
3) And some other stuff that I’m too bored to type. Find it yourself la.
So dear sleepy-head people! I give you the tips on how to stay awake during a meeting!
1. PAY ATTENTION! Duh… well, some wise people said (like my dad who said he’s always wiser than me!) when you give attention of something, you could actually find it very interesting and exciting. Maybe you could learn something from it, like the nerds! Be like them (in aspect of brain setting not the personality!)
2. MOVE YOUR BODY! Instantly when you’re feeling sluggish and wearing, try moving your body around (exercise lah!). Try wiggling your toes, fingers and hands. Do a minor exercise! Not the major ones (running around or do star jump during a meeting, you’re insane if you're doing that!). Shake your head, arms, and legs a little bit. InsyaAllah, you could stay conscious!
3. WRITE & DRAW! If the meeting too damn boring, it’s time to shine you skill! Tadaaaa~ move your fingers around with you pencil! Write or draw something in your notepad. People would think you’re taking notes, but actually you’re not! Hehe! You’ll get credit for that. Be creative! Positively, you’ll not fall asleep! heee
